Markos Koemtzopoulos is the founder and main writer of ElementalCrypto. He has been a lecturer at the University of Nicosia on cryptocurrencies and DeFi and has taught two courses on crypto and blockchain technology.

In this post, I will walk you through the best crypto podcasts you should follow. I have been listening to crypto podcasts almost every day since 2017 and a lot of the content on my site is based upon what I learn during those discussions.

So let’s take a look

Top Crypto Podcasts

1. What bitcoin did

Hosted Peter McCormack this podcast focuses exclusively on Bitcoin. Peter is a strong believer in Bitcoin and tends to look down upon other cryptocurrencies as being useless. He is based out of Bedford in the UK where he has bought a football club. I listen to his podcasts from time to time as he often has interesting guest speakers.

  • Average Podcast length: anywhere between 30 minute to 1:30 minutes.
  • Where to find the Podcast: whatbitcoindid.com

To be honest the best way to understand Bitcoin is to read my tutorial on what bitcoin is and how it works.

2. Pomp Podcast

Antony Pompliano, known as the Pomp is a seasoned investor and key figure in the world of Bitcoin. When he interviews people his primary focus is bitcoin. Sometimes he will discuss the broader crypto market and macro trends but he is a Bitcoin aficionado. While he started with crypto the Pomp branched out to broader entrepreneurship and other topics such as artificial intelligence, especially during the bear market.

3. Unchained podcast

Laura Shin is an ex-Forbes journalist and one of the first people to write about cryptocurrencies in a formal publication. She left Forbes to start her own podcast and has written a book called The Cryptopians which describes how Ethereum came about.

In her podcast, she goes deep into topics that have affected the crypto industry. For example, she covered Sam Bankman Fried’s trial in a lot of detail over multiple episodes. She has had Do Kwon the founder of Terra Luna come on her podcast to talk about Terra’s collapse. Plus most recently she has Three Arrow Captital’s Kyle Davies talk about how his fund imploded. Her podcast includes a weekly recording called the Chopping Block which is interesting to listen to. Laura does not participate in the chopping block. Instead, she has the same four people discuss the latest news and current events in the crypto market.

The Chopping block is hosted by:

  • Tom Schmidt a Partner at Dragonfly Capital Partners, a crypto investment fund

4. Bankless podcast with David Hoffman and Ryan Sean Adams

Bankless is your ultimate guide to all things related to the Ethereum Network. Ethereum is the largest smart contract blockchain which means you can build apps on top of it. Most of the crypto apps are built on Ethereum and about 67% of the total value is locked on the platform. The podcast does deep dives into specific protocols and they take their time breaking things apart. What I like about Bankless is that they go deep. So if you want to exhaust a topic this is a good podcast to listen to. What I don’t like is that they always do a lengthy intro talking about what they discussed in the podcast.
