1 Bitcoin equals one million MBTC.

Micro Bitcoin (MBTC) is one of the trending derivatives of the famous Bitcoin. The term “Micro” is a quantitative prefix denoting “millionth”. Thus, it is an indicator of the unit equivalent in bitcoins. In this case, MBTC is a millionth of a Bitcoin, that is, 0.000001BTC.

The value of Bitcoin has become immense. It is now equivalent to thousands of dollars. As of this writing, the current price of Bitcoin is $64,207.14. While this is ideal for Bitcoin as a store of value, it is not ideal for using Bitcoin as a medium of exchange. Imagine that you want to buy a cup of coffee, how many bitcoins does this cost? It costs about $5. At the current conversion rate, it will cost 0.000078 BTC. That’s a cumbersome figure to place on a menu list. Isn’t it? Well, smaller bitcoin units such as MBTC are there to make this manageable.

Smaller denominations are often preferred for smaller transactions such as buying a cup of coffee.

The following are some other smaller units of bitcoin:

  • Milli Bitcoin (mBTC) = 0.001BTC (a thousandth of a Bitcoin)
  • Micro Bitcoin (µBTC) = 0.000001BTC (a millionth of a Bitcoin)
  • Satoshi = 0.000 000 01 BTC (a hundred millionth of a Bitcoin)

Thus, Satoshi, named after the founder of Bitcoin – Satoshi Nakamoto, is the smallest unit of Bitcoin. In this case, 1 MBTC = 100 million Satoshi.

In fact the bitcoin blockchain only uses Satoshis as a unit of measurement.

How the price of MBTC is established

Since the price of MBTC in terms of Bitcoin is fixed, this is not a big issue. However, the big issue is the price of MBTC relative to prominent fiat currencies such as the US dollar.

Hence, to determine the price of MBTC, first of all, we have to establish the Bitcoin value.

Here are the three main steps:

1. Determine the price of Bitcoin

Forces of supply and demand determine the market price of BTC. In the currency exchange market, every currency is a commodity – relative to the other currency. In the crypto exchange market, Bitcoin becomes a commodity that buyers and sellers are willing to exchange for a price. This price is expressed in another currency – for example, the US dollar.

On the other hand, the US Dollar (USD) price is also susceptible to the same forces of supply and demand. Thus, the current price of BTC is based on the current rate of exchange of the US Dollar.

Most crypto exchanges have a USD BTC converter. This bitcoin converter enables users to quickly establish how many dollars that one bitcoin is worth.

2. Convert BTC to MBTC

This is the most straightforward Bitcoin conversion. You can either convert manually, using an electronic converter, or table converter. Let’s explore how each of these works:

Manual conversion

Simply multiply the amount of BTC by 0.000001 to get an equivalent amount of Micro Bitcoin Finance.

Electronic conversion

Why do manual calculations when you can quickly get the conversion price of MBTC from MBTC calculators? Yes, can quickly get the equivalent amount of MBTC from an MBTC calculator conveniently placed on any exchange platform that trades in a BTC-MBTC pair. This is the most common way of deriving the value of MBTC today.

The following is a simple BTC-MBTC converter from Coincodex:

Table conversion

Even without the MBTC converter, you can easily get the approximate amount of MBTC from the Micro Bitcoin Finance price table such as the one shown below:

3. Convert MBTC to USD

Often, the price of Micro Bitcoin Finance is expressed in USD rather than bitcoin. This is because the USD is the most traded fiat currency. Thus, the MBTC-USD pair is the most commonly traded pair on many cryptocurrency exchange platforms.

Luckily, just as we do have a BTC-MBTC converter, we also have an MBTC-USD converter. Thus, you don’t have to manually convert your MBTC to USD.

When it comes to MBTC-USD conversation, the mStable BTC is often used. The mStable BTC is a stable version of MBTC. This is a derivative asset anchored on BTC.

Live MBTC price

The MBTC converters derive their live data from MBTC price aggregators. Thus, apart from MBTC converters, you can also get the latest Micro Bitcoin Finance price from interactive charts. This is because this live data has the last price update. The interactive charts are nothing but a visual presentation of live MBTC price movement.

The MBTC price prediction

Historical trends, market sentiments, the impact of competing alternatives, and the global environment influence the price of MBTC. However, historical trends are preferred. This is because they are capable of being quantified, measured, and analyzed. Further, historical prices are easy to find.
